The Water Bottle, the Pull-Up, and the Mirror Selfie

Here’s a photo of me standing in front of the mirror..professionally dressed, hair done, water bottle in hand… and a pull-up.

And honestly? That picture sums up this season of my life perfectly.

Because being a working mom doesn’t look like balance.
It looks like both. It’s raw. it’s real.

It looks like preparing for meetings, showings, deadlines, and decisions…while also making sure someone tiny has snacks, shoes, and a dry backup plan. It’s switching roles without warning. CEO to mom. Professional to comforter. Planner to problem-solver. Sometimes all before 9 a.m.

Doing It All (Even When It Feels Like Too Much)

There’s this quiet pressure moms carry, the expectation to show up polished and put together, while somehow also being endlessly present, patient, and prepared at home. We’re told we can “do it all,” but rarely told how heavy that actually feels.

Some days, I feel unstoppable.
Other days, I feel stretched thin.
Most days? It’s a mix of both.

all the days, I am blessed. Working with people that trust me with their biggest decisions, and having little humans that trust me to care for them.

And that mirror selfie wasn’t staged, it was real life. A moment where I caught myself and thought, Yep. This is it. This is what it looks like to try.

For the Moms Reading This…

If you’re reading this while juggling a career, a household, kids, and the constant mental checklist that never shuts off, this is for you.

If you’ve ever shown up to work exhausted but determined.
If you’ve ever felt guilty for loving your job and your babies.
If you’ve ever wondered if anyone else feels like they’re holding everything together with coffee, grace, and sheer will…

You’re not alone.

You’re not failing.
You’re not behind.
You’re not doing it wrong.

You’re doing something brave. And that needs to be praised. Life can be overwhelming, doing it alone isn’t what we’re called to do.

A Reminder I Needed (And Maybe You Do Too)

That pull-up doesn’t mean I’m unprofessional.
It means I’m human.

That water bottle isn’t just hydration..it’s survival. Because let’s be real, who actually drinks the amount of water they say we need. I’M TRYING THOUGH.
That mirror selfie? It’s proof that even when life feels chaotic, I still showed up.

And so do you.

So here’s to the moms who are building careers, raising humans, and figuring it out as they go. The ones doing quiet, unseen work that matters more than they realize.

You’re doing more than “enough.”
You’re doing something incredible.

Remember to give yourself GRACE.

XOXO,

Your Friend in Real Estate- Elizabeth
